From a plum new job at Channel Seven to her impending one-year wedding anniversary - Samantha Armytage certainly has a lot to celebrate these days. 

So it was no surprise to see the former Sunrise host in good spirits on Friday as she enjoyed a long lunch at China Doll in Sydney's Woolloomooloo with her husband Richard Lavender, 60. 

The duo were joined by celebrity fashion designer Jonathan Ward for the upmarket meal, and were seen smiling and laughing between mouthfuls of San Choy Bow. 

Dining in style!

Samantha looked particularly jubilant, roaring with laughter as Jonathan told her a joke.

The blonde dressed to impress for the occasion, ラブドール sporting a black pencil dress and tan leather sandals. 

She completed her chic look with a brown leather headband and a woven designer handbag.

Equestrian businessman Richard also looked sharp in a white polo shirt, matching shorts, a brown leather belt and lace-up shoes.  

It's no surprise Samantha and Richard dressed up for the outing, given the fashion credentials of their guest Jonathan, whose gowns have been worn by celebrities including Elle Macpherson, Kylie Minogue and Nicole Kidman.  

Jonathan meanwhile dressed in a white collard shirt, pinstripe blue blazer, jeans and brown leather boots.

After wrapping up their long lunch, the trio continued their merry conversation while taking a stroll down the iconic Woolloomooloo Finger Wharf.

Richard clutched a paper bag in one hand, suggesting that he'd taken some food home for later. 

The day drew to a close as Samantha, Richard and Jonathan reached the road and hailed down a taxi.

The outing comes as Samantha prepares to make her triumphant return to screens in 2022, following her departure from Sunrise in March. 

In October, it was announced that Samantha and Richard would be joining  reality TV franchise Farmer Wants a Wife next year. 

Samantha, who married wealthy farmer Richard Lavender late last year, will assist with the matchmaking process alongside host Natalie Gruzlewski.
